About Sergio

Born in East Los Angeles, Sergio Cervantes is a LatinX artist, educator, history nerd, and a writer. Sergio’s writing is focused on diverse stories, as experienced through the eyes of his characters, as well as fictional works that immerse one in fantastical realms. 

            

Sergio is an alumnus of the National Hispanic Media Coalitions Scriptwriters Program.

His pilot script, ESPERANZA’S WORLD, was recognized as a Finalist in the BlueCat Screenwriting Competition (2022). 

His short script, THE BRACERO AND THE HUMMINGBIRD, is a 2x Semifinalist, in the Wiki Screenwriting Competition (June 22’) and the Manhattan Short Screenplay Competition (2021). 

 

Sergio lives in Rancho Cucamonga, California, with his wife, kids and dog Riley. Riley does her part to keep her humans healthy, by regularly taking them on long walks.
